Inside Aqua Nor 2025: The Biggest Aquaculture Innovation Showcase Ever

Aqua Nor 2025 drew in over 25,000 visitors from around the globe to Trondheim, including 3 from Onda who navigated the airline strike and multiple hours on the phone to make it their mission to attend Aqua Nor. The event achieved a milestone with more than 10,000 visitors on a single exhibition day creating a buzz of activity at the tradeshow.

Royal Opening & Innovation Spotlight

The exhibition commenced with a grand opening ceremony graced by H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon. The event featured a captivating performance by Didrik Solli-Tangen and the announcement of GreenFox Marine as the recipient of the 2025 Innovation Award for its groundbreaking technology in fish gender sorting, which promises improved growth rates and reduced mortality in aquaculture.

Best Stand Award

Mørenot was honored with the Best Stand Award, a testament to their innovative and engaging exhibition design that stood out among numerous impressive displays.

Student Innovation at Aqua Nor

The Student Camp at Aqua Nor 2025 showcased the next generation of aquaculture professionals. The winning team presented "AquaLearn," a digital learning platform aimed at enhancing aquaculture education in coastal communities, promoting local competence, job creation, and sustainable development.

Industry Milestones

Cflow signed to complete the fish-handling system for Pure Salmon’s new RAS-based aquaculture facility in Japan at AquaNor. The $460 million USD project for the land-based salmon farm is one of the most ambitious RAS projects worldwide and will be the first of its kind in Japan.
