Enhancing Research Precision: How Onda’s New RAS and Respirometry Capabilities Elevate Client Outcomes

At Onda, every operational upgrade is driven by a single goal: to deliver more reliable and data-rich research for our clients. With the implementation of a Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) at our Victoria facility and the addition of a respirometer to our equipment suite, we’re taking another step forward in advancing aquaculture research.

The new RAS infrastructure provides an advanced platform for conducting challenge and performance studies under precisely managed conditions. By continuously filtering and recirculating water, RAS allows us to maintain consistent environmental parameters, enhance biosecurity and reinforces our commitment to sustainability.

Our newly installed respirometer allows for detailed measurement of fish metabolism and energy use which are key indicators of health, stress, and overall performance. This capability gives clients a new layer of insight by connecting biological response to measurable performance benefits. By tracking oxygen consumption in real time, we can assess the physiological impact of various treatments on fish metabolism & detect subtle changes in welfare and performance that might not appear at traditional endpoints.

Every new system and instrument at Onda is an investment in client success. By expanding our capabilities, we’re giving innovators more reliable tools to validate their solutions, refine their products, and make confident decisions backed by high-quality data.
